AGARTALA, Nov 7 (TIWN): For the first time since the Tripura strike opposed by the BJP which was backed by a Tipra Motha MLA, the party’s supremo Pradyot Debbarman has met CM Manik Saha on Friday which he said, an apolitical meet.
“I placed my own words and he placed his own. Hopefully we will get a solution,” said Debbarman after meeting the CM.
When asked if any discussion took place regarding the upcoming elections, Debbarman refuted and said, the meeting avoided all sorts of political discussions.
BJP and Tipra Motha parties have been political alliance partners in the state since post 2023 Assembly election and few of the Tipra Motha MLAs are also sharing Manik Saha’s cabinet posts.
Recently during the Tripura strike organized by an NGO but fully supported by Tipra Motha MLA Ranjit Debbarma and many other leaders, activists —- caused heavy violence in Kamalpur subdivision of Tripura. That triggered tension between the alliance partners.
Tripura government then unpermitted a rally scheduled by Tipra Motha this week.
However, now things have been resolved between the parties, which was reflected with the Tipra Motha leader and Chief Minister’s meeting.
