AGARTALA, Oct 24 (TIWN): The CPI(M) organized a protest gathering at Oriant Chowmuhani in Agartala, demanding swift action against corruption, rape, and violence against women.
The protesters, led by former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and Opposition Leader Jitendra Chowdhury, called for a thorough investigation into the seizure of narcotics worth crores of rupees and the dismissal of Minister Sudhangshu Das.
The demonstration highlighted various issues plaguing the state, including child rape, violence against women, and corruption.
The party leaders emphasized the need for stringent action against those responsible for these crimes and demanded justice for the victims. The protest aimed to bring attention to the growing concerns about public safety and corruption in the state.
