AGARTALA, Oct 6 (TIWN): A fire broke out at the canteen of Shanti Bazar Degree College in Betaga area on Sunday night. The fire was brought under control by the fire brigade team, but not before it caused significant damage to the canteen.
According to reports, the fire started on Sunday night when the college was closed. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but locals allege that the lack of proper security and water facilities at the college might have exacerbated the damage.
The canteen owner has suffered significant losses due to the fire. Locals have expressed frustration over the college administration's negligence and lack of preparedness in preventing such incidents.
