AGARTALA, Sep 29 (TIWN): The Santir Bazar police station has achieved significant success in its anti-liquor drive, seizing 300 bottles of foreign liquor and approximately 200 liters of country-made liquor since Mahalaya. Sixteen individuals involved in the liquor trade have been arrested.
According to OC Raju Dutta, the police have been intensifying their efforts to curb illicit liquor sales during the Durga Puja festivities. On Monday, based on a tip-off, the police apprehended two individuals, Bikram Riang and Subrata Tripura, with foreign liquor in Garchang Purnjoy Riang Para and Ashwini Tripura Para.
The police will take legal action against the accused, and OC Dutta assured that the anti-liquor drive will continue. The community has appreciated the police's efforts in maintaining law and order during the festive season.
