AGARTALA, Sep 28 (TIWN): A shocking incident of arson was reported in the early hours of Sunday at the TIPRA MOTHA party office in Shantinagar, Takarjala. The party office, located in Baichuk Bazar under the 12 Takarjala Assembly constituency, was allegedly set ablaze by miscreants.
Party workers and supporters were left stunned upon discovering the damage on Sunday morning. The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with party leaders, including the MDC Ganesh Debbarma, Sub-Zonal Chairman Shantanu Debbarma, and Sukram Debbarma, rushing to the scene.
The police have initiated an investigation into the incident and are working to identify the perpetrators. While the TIPRA MOTHA party is strong in the area, the absence of other major political parties raises questions about the potential culprits.
