AGARTALA, Sep 28 (TIWN): A shocking incident of idol vandalism has been reported from Udaipur's Brahmhabari area, where the Durga Puja committee's pandal was desecrated early on Sunday morning. The idol of Goddess Durga and other deities, including Lakshmi, Ganesh, and Kartik, were found damaged.
The incident sparked widespread outrage, and a large contingent of police officials, including the Superintendent of Police of Gomati district, rushed to the scene. The police are investigating the incident and reviewing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators.
According to eyewitnesses, the vandalism likely occurred in the early hours of Sunday, before devotees and locals arrived at the pandal. The police are working to determine the motive behind the incident and bring those responsible to justice.
The vandalism has caused significant distress among the local community, who were eagerly preparing to celebrate the Durga Puja festivities.
