AGARTALA, Sep 24 (TIWN): The Behalabari village in Khowai's Tulshikhar block has been declared a Bio Village 2.0, thanks to the Tripura government's Biotechnology department and financial support from Ashray Foundation. The launch ceremony was attended by Forest and Science & Technology Minister Animesh Debbarma, Ashray Foundation officials, and Biotechnology department officials.
The project aims to promote rural socio-economic development and ecosystem conservation. A total of 56 beneficiaries from Behalabari village will benefit from this initiative. Beneficiaries can choose 3-5 components based on their preferences, including energy-efficient appliances, organic fertilizers, battery-operated spray machines, biogas, mushroom cultivation tools, beekeeping equipment, poultry, goat, and pig farming, fish seed, and animal feed.
Minister Animesh Debbarma praised Ashray Foundation's efforts and the Biotechnology department's role in conceptualizing the Bio Village 2.0 project. He emphasized that the department deserves credit for attracting investment from an external organization for this initiative. The Bio Village 2.0 project has gained recognition, with the project's success expected to benefit the local community and contribute to the state's development goals.
