AGARTALA, Sep 19 (TIWN): A 70-year-old woman, Meera Deb, has been forced to call her own son "Kulangaar" (a term used to describe someone with extremely bad behavior) due to his utter neglect and lack of care towards her. Meera Deb, a resident of Pandabpur area in Kamala Sagar Assembly constituency, met with an accident at her daughter's house in Sekerkot area, resulting in a severe leg injury that has left her bedridden.
Despite having a son, Dulal Deb, who works at a silver factory, Meera Deb's treatment has been hampered due to lack of financial support from him. Her son-in-law, Vishwajit De, is struggling to arrange for her treatment due to financial constraints. The situation has taken a toll on Meera Deb, who has been forced to express her helplessness and frustration towards her son's behavior.
Meera Deb's emotional appeal has raised questions about the values and responsibilities of children towards their parents in today's society. The fact that Dulal Deb has been withholding her essential documents and not providing her with basic necessities like sugar and fuel oil that she receives from the ration has further exacerbated the situation.
The incident has sparked concerns about the treatment of elderly parents by their children. Will Dulal Deb and others like him take responsibility for their actions and show care and respect towards their mothers? Only time will tell.
