AGARTALA, Sep 18 (TIWN): The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department of Tripura has initiated the distribution of new PVC ration cards to beneficiaries. In the first phase, 4.87 lakh PVC cards will be distributed out of 9.91 lakh family ration cards in the state. The remaining cards will be issued after paper card holders complete their E-KYC process.
On Thursday, a card distribution ceremony was held at Ration Shop No. 4, Durga Chowmuhani, where beneficiaries received their PVC cards. Corporators Snigdha Das Deb and Nibas Das, Ramnagar Mandal President Amitabh Bhattacharjee, and other officials were present.
The department has urged all ration card holders to complete their Aadhaar-based E-KYC process immediately. The E-KYC process will help eliminate fake ration cards, ensure transparency in the public distribution system, and prevent fraud.
