AGARTALA, Sep 5 (TIWN):A peculiar situation has arisen in Rajnagar village under the Bagma Assembly constituency and Matabari block, where road construction work has been halted due to an ultimatum issued by the village pradhan. The pradhan has directed the contractor to meet with local MLA Rampada Jamatia and BJP Mandal President Amar Jamatia before proceeding with the work.
The directive has sparked controversy, with other panchayat members, including the deputy pradhan, claiming they were unaware of the decision. They argue that development work should continue and that meetings with the MLA and Mandal President can be arranged during the ongoing construction.
The incident has caused a stir in the area, raising questions about the role of the village pradhan and the decision-making process within the panchayat.
