AGARTALA, Sep 4 (TIWN): A major accident occurred on the Assam-Agartala National Highway in the Teliamura subdivision of Tripura when a container fell off a truck and blocked the road, bringing traffic to a standstill. The incident took place on Wednesday evening near the Hawaibari area.
According to reports, a truck with registration number TR 04 E 15 94 was carrying a container towards Agartala when it hit a tree near the national highway, causing the container to detach and fall onto the road. The blockage led to a long queue of vehicles, including passenger buses and goods-laden trucks, on both sides of the highway.
Upon receiving the news, Teliamura SDM Pannalal Sen, along with a large police force and district administration officials, rushed to the scene. Under Sen's supervision, the container was quickly removed from the road, and traffic movement was restored.
The swift action by the authorities helped prevent any major disruption or accidents, ensuring the safety of the commuters and minimizing the inconvenience caused by the blockage.
