Udaipur, Sep 3 (TIWN): A drainage project initiated by the Udaipur Municipal Council has sparked concerns among residents, with several homes and buildings reportedly damaged during the construction process. The project aims to alleviate waterlogging issues in the area, which have been a perennial problem for years.
Residents of the Brahambari to Sonamura stretch have expressed discontent, claiming that the construction work has resulted in damage to their properties. Despite complaints, the authorities seem to be turning a deaf ear to the issue.
One resident, Manish Kar, alleged that the excavation work for the drainage system near his home in Sonamura has weakened the structure of his house. He expressed support for the drainage project but emphasized that it should not come at the cost of citizens' properties.
Kar also pointed out that the municipal council's own regulations require homeowners to leave a certain amount of space while constructing buildings, but the council seems to be disregarding its own rules during the project implementation. Residents have appealed to the authorities to ensure that the construction work does not cause further damage to their homes and properties.
