AGARTALA, Sep 2 (TIWN):The 12th Sabroom Sub-Divisional Conference of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) was held in Sabroom, emphasizing the need to organize workers and strengthen their collective voice.
The conference began with the hoisting of the CITU flag and paying homage to martyrs at the Shahid Bedi. Over 210 delegates from various professions across the Sabroom sub-division participated in the event.
CITU state president Manik Dey hoisted the flag, while state leaders Bipul Sanyal, Dipak Dey, and Sadhan Basu paid homage to the martyrs. In his inaugural address, Manik Dey called for unity among workers to protect their rights.
The conference adopted a report presented by Sabroom Sub-Divisional Secretary Dipak Dey, which was followed by discussions from nine delegates. A new committee was elected with 47 members, with Raju Chakraborty as President and Dipak Dey as Secretary.
