AGARTALA, Aug 30 (TIWN): The 69th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) has achieved a significant success in the Bhabanipur area of Sepahijala district in Tripura. A joint operation led to the arrest of five Bangladeshi nationals and one Indian youth who were allegedly involved in a racket to provide Aadhaar cards to the Bangladeshi nationals in exchange for money.
The arrested Bangladeshi nationals were promised Aadhaar cards in just two days for a sum of ?40,000. The BSF, with the help of local residents, apprehended the accused and handed them over to the Yatrapur police station.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Bappi Kumar Dey, Abdul Matin, Abdul Chhattar, Narul Alam, Mohd. Hasan, and Mohd. Arman Hossain, all from Bangladesh, and one Indian youth, Bappi Kumar Dey from Bhabanipur.
The incident has raised questions about the security arrangements along the border and the role of middlemen in facilitating illegal activities. Despite tight security, the incident highlights the need for greater vigilance to prevent such cases.
