AGARTALA, Aug 28 (TIWN): Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Thursday announced that ration shop dealers’ commissions will be increased soon. The Minister said that, based on the allegations coming from consumers that they are not provided with timely food items. “It’s not expected that even after the government provides timely ration equipment but the consumers are not getting this,” he said. At that point, Chowdhury assured that the commission of the ration dealers will be increased, urging them not to make the consumers wait. “Based on the items you are providing, remember, you are getting commission,” he added. “We already increased the commission and are now planning to increase it more,” the Minister said.
The Minister was speaking on the occasion of "mutual discussion, dialogue and exchange of views" that was organized by the Department of Food, Public Procurement and Consumer Affairs of the Government of Tripura at Auditorium No. 1 of Rabindra Centenary Building amid the participation of Fair Price Shop Management Associations and Ration Dealers, Transporters involved in the transportation of various food items and Millers of Chakki Mills from different districts of the state.
