AGARTALA, Aug 28 (TIWN): Five persons in connection with a theft incident were arrested by West Agartala police on Thursday.

They were held in connection with theft incidents in Banamalipur.

The arrested persons are : Prasanta Debbarma (24), resident of Uajan Abhoynagar, Pabitra Debbarma (25), resident of North Banamalipur, Kamal Debbarma (24), of North Banamalipur and Tapan Debbarma (21), of Lalbahadur Chowmuhani and one more.

SP West Namit Pathak informed media that more 11 persons were booked by police in a separate theft case connected to Pratapgarh Trinathpur temple loot incident.

Along with gold ornaments that belong to the temple, police also recovered 9 stolen batteries.
