AGARTALA, Aug 22 (TIWN): The Kadamtala police station in North Tripura district has achieved a significant breakthrough in its anti-narcotics campaign. On Thursday night, based on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid in the Amtala Bazar area and arrested a youth named Ruhel Ahmed with heroin.
According to police sources, Sub-Inspector Tapan Das led the operation, which resulted in the seizure of heroin worth a substantial amount, concealed in five soap cases. The police also confiscated the motorcycle used in the crime.
Ruhel Ahmed, a resident of Kalagang Panchayat's 5th ward, was taken into custody and booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. He will be produced before the Dharmanagar District and Sessions Court on Friday.
The local community has welcomed the police's efforts, expressing satisfaction with the successful operation.
