UDAIPUR, Aug 9 (TIWN): Kakabran PS police have successfully recovered an eloped couple of a minor age. Kakraban PS OC Jayanta Malakar, while briefing on the incident, said, “On July 23, before I joined here, a case was registered where a minor boy and a minor girl eloped. That incident created tension here across the Kakraban area. However, with the robust operation conducted by Additional SP, Cybercrime and police department, we could locate them and finally rescued both.”
They were rescued from Farukkabad, in Uttar Pradesh.
The OC mentioned that UP police have been helpful to the Tripura police in the recovery. The couple was rescued from a hotel where they had been staying.
With both of them being minors, they were produced before the juvenile court where their statements will be recorded. The boy and girl belong to different communities, and that was one of the major causes behind tension in the Kakrabaon jurisdiction.
“They eloped due to love affairs, which generated a tense situation here. They were tracked in Uttar Pradesh, Bengaluru, and finally their destination was found in Uttar Pradesh,” said SDPO Nirmal Das.
