Agartala, Aug 2 (TIWN): The Sattala English Medium Residential School in Kanchanpur, Tripura, is facing a severe crisis due to the poor state of its infrastructure.
The school, which was inaugurated in 2009, has been plagued by various problems, including a lack of teachers and dilapidated buildings.
The school's hostel is in a deplorable condition, with leaking roofs, broken doors and windows, and inadequate sanitation facilities. Students are forced to drink contaminated water due to the lack of proper water supply. Despite repeated complaints to the ADC administration, no effective action has been taken to address these issues.
Frustrated by the situation, students and parents took to the streets, blocking the Dasda-Kanchanpur road. The blockade was later lifted after the school inspector assured them that the issues would be resolved within a month. However, the question remains whether the administration will take concrete steps to improve the school's infrastructure.
The situation highlights the broader issue of neglect faced by schools under the ADC administration in Tripura. Locals are questioning when the administration will take action to improve the conditions of these schools and provide quality education to students in the region.
