Agartala, Aug 2 (TIWN): A devastating railway accident occurred in the Kalaichhara railway station area of South Tripura, resulting in the death of a 52-year-old man named Lakshman Chandra Das. The incident took place when the passenger train traveling from Agartala to Sabroom struck Das near the Kalaichhara Thailiktuisa station.
According to eyewitnesses, the train was scheduled to depart from Agartala at 10:50 AM, and Das allegedly failed to notice the approaching train, leading to the fatal accident. Local residents and railway police rushed to the scene, recovering Das's body and initiating an investigation.
The police are currently probing into the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine whether it was an accident or a case of suicide. Das's body has been sent for post-mortem examination. The news of the incident has sent shockwaves in the area, with locals expressing grief over the tragic loss of life.
