Agartala, Aug 2 (TIWN): In a significant crackdown on narcotics, Melaghar Police Station OC Jayanta Das led a massive operation in the Shibnagar Char area, destroying approximately 65,000 cannabis saplings in a vast nursery. The operation was carried out based on a tip-off and involved a large team of TSR personnel, including Sub-Inspector Subir Saha and Ram Kishan.

This marks OC Jayanta Das's first major operation since taking charge of Melaghar Police Station, having recently been transferred from Amarpur Birganj Police Station. The OC emphasized that the anti-narcotics drive will continue in the coming days, with a strong focus on eradicating the cultivation and trade of illicit substances in the area.

The operation highlights the Tripura police's commitment to tackling the narcotics menace and ensuring the safety and well-being of the local community.
