KAILASHAHR, July 27 (TIWN): A shocking incident of alleged rape and harassment has rocked the Irajakhowra village under the Irani police station in Unakoti district. The victim, a housewife was allegedly subjected to physical and mental harassment by a local resident, Lutfur Rahman, who had been making unwanted advances towards her.
According to reports, Lutfur Rahman had been harassing the victim for months, and when she rejected his proposals, he allegedly raped her on July 25 night. The victim has been admitted to the Unakoti District Hospital for treatment.
The victim's family has approached the authorities, seeking justice and action against the accused. Her mother had filed a written complaint at the local police station on July 13, but allegedly, no concrete action was taken, prompting them to approach the authorities again.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with demands for swift investigation and punishment for the accused. The authorities are expected to take action against Lutfur Rahman and ensure justice for the victim.
