July 25, 2025, Srinathpur, (TIWN): Residents of Srinathpur village have been struggling with a severe drinking water crisis for nearly nine months. Frustrated with the lack of progress despite repeated appeals to the authorities and local panchayat, the villagers were left with no choice but to block the road.
The affected area, which is part of the Srinathpur Gram Panchayat, has been facing acute water scarcity, forcing people to rely on unhealthy sources like ponds and canals for drinking water. Even the local mosque's water tank has rusted due to disuse.
The villagers have also raised serious allegations against a local contractor, alongside the department's inaction. The roadblock has disrupted normal life, with many vehicles, school-going students, and commuters stranded. The villagers are demanding immediate resolution to the drinking water crisis.
