AGARTALA, July 21 (TIWN): Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday stressed the importance of quality education in Tripura. The Chief Minister addressed the inauguration program at the State-Level Commendation Ceremony to Celebrate 100% Success in Secondary and Higher Secondary Examinations at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, Agartala, and emphasized that quality education is most crucial in today’s world. This is because students must be equipped to compete at the national level, he noted.
The Chief Minister attributed the students' success entirely to the dedication of their teachers, stating, "The credit for the students' success goes 100% to the teachers, and similarly, teachers also share the responsibility in case of students' failure." He further elaborated that this principle underscores the government's efforts to enhance educational standards. "That’s why our government is striving to implement advanced teaching methodologies in classrooms to elevate the overall educational setup," he said.
Dr. Saha highlighted the government’s focus on recruiting trained teachers, mentioning, "Today, special emphasis has been placed on recruiting trained teachers. Through the Tripura Recruitment Board (TRBT), numerous qualified teachers have been recruited to ensure quality education."
The Chief Minister also expressed concern over the growing trend of private tuition in the state. "Private tuition is a significant issue in Tripura," he pointed out. "It’s observed that despite teachers delivering quality lessons in class, the impact is often diminished because students may not fully engage, knowing they have private tutors to fall back on." He stressed the need to improve the education system through quality education and smart classes.
Dr. Saha advocated for a three-dimensional approach to education, stating, "A three-dimensional setup is ideal for effective education. While earlier, two-dimensional methods were sufficient, today’s educational landscape demands more dynamic and interactive approaches. However, the importance of the traditional blackboard still persists and remains a valuable tool in the teaching process," he added.
