Kailashahar, July 16 (TIWN): A newborn baby's death at Kailashahar RGM Hospital in Unakoti district has raised serious questions about the state's healthcare system.
According to reports, a pregnant woman named Bulti Debnath was admitted to the hospital on July 11, and despite repeated requests for medical attention, the nurses on duty allegedly failed to provide timely care.
The baby was eventually delivered by a hospital staff member, but unfortunately, the newborn was stillborn due to alleged negligence. The hospital authorities have been accused of trying to cover up the incident, with doctors and nurses shifting the blame onto each other.
The baby's mother has demanded intervention from the Chief Minister, while sources suggest that the hospital has started referring pregnant patients to the district hospital instead of admitting them. The incident has sparked concerns about the future of the state's healthcare system, with many questioning who will take responsibility for the newborn's death.
