AGARTALA, July 3 (TIWN): Opposition Congress party, led by MLA Sudip Barman, surveyed to gather public reactions and how they think about the situation and governance under the Modi Govt. Based on that, Congress distributed leaflets in Barman’s constituency, 6-Agartala. Reacting to the campaigning, the Congress MLA said, “For long 11 years, people have been listening to PM Modi’s Mann-Ki-Baat, but there is no one to listen to the people. A fascist government is trying to suppress the public voice.” “That’s why we have decided to bring the public voice to notice,” added Barman.
Sudip Roy Barman is a popular opposition party politician in the state of Tripura, who won 2023 Assembly election without a single house-to-house campaign in his constituency.
The long-time Congress MLA joined the BJP in 2017 and was subsequently given a prestigious portfolio in the health department in 2018 after BJP came to power. However, he resigned after expressing dissent from the government's policies on health and public affairs.
