Dharmanagar, June 30 (TIWN): Opposition leader Jitendra Chowdhury has strongly criticized the ruling BJP government in Tripura, alleging a complete breakdown of law and order in the state. Chowdhury's remarks come in the wake of a violent incident that occurred at the Dharmanagar community hall, where a meeting organized by the Tripura Motor Shramik Union (TMSU) was taking place.
According to Chowdhury, the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), a wing of BJP, had organized their meeting at the same venue on the same day and allegedly threatened auto and tomtom drivers to attend their program. A fight ensued between two groups of BMS, who were allegedly armed, creating a volatile situation.
Chowdhury questioned the state's law and order, stating that such incidents demonstrate the ruling government's inability to maintain peace and order. "There is no law and regulation in Tripura under the BJP government," he alleged. The opposition leader's comments have sparked concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
The incident has raised questions about the role of the ruling party's affiliate organizations in creating unrest and the government's response to such incidents.
