Agartala, Feb 9 (TIWN): At 7.40 pm today evening MLA and Ex Minister Anil Sarkar died at AIIMS Delhi. His age was 78 years.

Condition of Anil Sarkar, veteran CPI(M) leader and vice-chairman of state planning board was reported to be critical since a week.

Briefing media recently , Health minister Badal Chowdhury said Sarkar has been put on life support system  at AIIMS, Delhi after his condition deteriorated. For quite a long time, the veteran leader was suffering from kidney ailment. Few days back he was admitted at a private hospital and was referred to Kolkata as his condtion  turned critical.  

The minister said from Kolkata he was shifted to AIIMS on Saturday for better medical attention.
