AGARTALA, June 25 (TIWN): A property developer, who is also CEO of a Kolkata-based private company, was booked by police.
The step was taken after the consumer rights court issued an arrest warrant against him, based on a complaint.
According to details, in 2016 Subrata Ghosh, a resident of Tripura, deposited money with the company CEO for buying a flat in Kolkata, but with various excuses, the flat was never developed, forcing Subrata Ghosh to complain to the consumer rights court.
The court ordered the CEO, Mahendra Agarwal, to pay compensation to the victim, but he did not pay the amount either.
Consequently, an arrest warrant was issued against him. Police sent the arrest warrant to Lal Bazar police station.
Today, Agarwal surrendered before the West District Court.
