AGARTALA, June 23 (TIWN): Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha attended a program – Ullas at Rabindra Bhawan on Monday, which was organized to mark the celebration of Tripura’s emerging as a fully literate state. The chief minister said, “Even being a small state, our endeavors have no limit,” CM said.
However, Dr. Saha laid focus on skill development so that people can utilize their skills in their real life, with a proper use of their literacy.
With this, Tripura has emerged as the third to join the distinguished list after Mizoram and Goa.
In 1961, Tripura’s literacy rate was only 20.24 percent, which is now 95.6%.
This newly revealed data contradicts the previous government’s data which stated Tripura ranked second after Kerala with the highest literacy rates.
