The incident took place in Karuimura Munsibari area. The house owner alleged his house was not only vandalized but gold ornaments along with Rs. 2 lakhs were robbed from the home.

Alam criticized BJP MLA Sushanta Deb for the lawless situation in his constituency.

“If you come here, you would see there is not even a proper place left to sit,” said Alam.

“One thing sad to say that we, the people of Tripura, failed to rise above politics,” said Alam while briefing to media.

According to the victim’s wife, who has been a school teacher by profession, her own former students were also among those attackers.
