AGARTALA, June 9 (TIWN): BJP organized a protest on Monday in Agartala demanding the arrest of Congress activist Sahajahan Islam. Sahajahan Islam, a youth Congress leader, allegedly spread hatred on social media against Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and a few other BJP leaders on Sunday. Sahajahan’s house was attacked by miscreants after the incident, followed by a visit from Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman and party president Asish Saha, which triggered more tension in the area.

Footage showed that Asish Saha and Sudip Barman were escorted from the Sahajahan’s home amid BJP supporters had gathered in front of Sahajahan’s home.

A massive protest in Agartala was organized by BJP, which walked in front of the Congress Bhawan.

BJP lodged multiple FIRs against Sahajahan, demanding his arrest.

In another action against BJP leader Billal Mia BJP minority cell lodged an FIR, signed by Billal Mia, at the West Agartala Police Station.

Sahajahan, the Congress activist, called for "boycotting" Billal Mia and other BJP minority leaders for their silence during Kurbani Eid, when various disturbances happened in Tripura centering on cow-slaughtering.
