AGARTALA, June 9 (TIWN): In an action against BJP leader Billal Mia by Congress activist Sahajahan Islam, BJP minority cell lodged an FIR at the West Agartala Police Station. The FIR was filed and signed by Billal Mia himself. Sahajahan, a Congress activist, called for "boycotting" Billal Mia and other BJP minority leaders for their silence during Kurbani Eid, when various disturbances allegedly happened in Tripura centering on cow-slaughtering. Sahajahan accused Billal Mia of being a traitor and appealed people to boycott all such BJP leaders.
Billal Mia was a long time Congress leader cum MLA, joined BJP before few years.
Yesterday, Sahajahan Islam stormed on Facebook with anti-BJP and Anti-CM remarks, alleging BJP has hurt the sentiment of the Muslim community by causing disturbances during Eid.
He also used filthy words against Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha saying, his career was centered on only removing people's teeth.
Billal Mia and other minority leaders of the BJP party today lodged FIR against Sahahjahan, seeking his arrest.
Congress party president Asish Saha said, “Congress does not support hate comments but Sahajahan’s remarks were an outburst of accumulating anger.”
