AGARTALA, June 1 (TIWN): Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday appealed to the people who are stranded in their homes due to flood water, to come out of their houses following the guidelines instructed by the administration. “Please follow the instructions and come out! Later, it might cause more problems. The same thing happened last year, too. So, I would request the people to take shelter in the relief camps,” said the CM. The Chief Minister was visiting the relief camps in Agartala along with officials, and also inspected the flood-affected areas in the city. Various areas across the state are suffering due to waterlogging and flood conditions following incessant rain in the last few days.
CM also said, the areas under the Agartala Municipal corporation, although faced massive water-logging but the machines worked properly and the water was discharged fast.
“The flood is now a major issue in the whole Northeast, including Assam. Heavy rain hit Agartala too, but the water was passed. At a point, we were also worried why so much water was getting logged and if there was any issue in the draining line, but after a while, the water level was decreased,” said CM. “It proves that, water discharging line was working properly.”
