KAILASHAHAR, May 28 (TIWN): A drug peddler named Amzad Ali consumed poison after police raided his home at Bhagaban Nagar, Kailashahar. Based on secret information, police raided his home and successfully seized a huge quantity of Brown Sugar. Total of 90 containers of brown sugar were seized during the raid.

When police were seizing the items, Azad Ali told police that he was not feeling okay and needed to take blood pressure medicine. Police accordingly permitted him to do so, but taking the opportunity, Ali consumed poison and attempted suicide.

He was rushed to the District Hospital at Bhagaban Nagar.

Though he is now out of danger, the doctor has kept him under observation.

Police are suspecting that there might be more people involved in the network.
