AGARTALA, May 6 (TIWN): Tea garden workers sat in protest on Tuesday, demanding their pending wages in Durga Bari.
The workers said, earlier never such things happened, but now irregular payments have become a major issue.
“We want weekly payments, which was the system here, but now the system has changed, and we are facing troubles,” said the tea garden workers.
“I thought I would be paid today and that’s why I went out with a bag to get groceries, but returned with empty bag as no money was deposited in my bank account,” said a worker.
