AGARTALA, May 6 (TIWN): Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday said that as Tripura has been freed from terrorism, it’s the perfect time to boost the tourism industry here.
Referring to the Kashmir terror attack, the Chief Minister said that this one incident has affected the tourism there.
“Earlier, Tripura too had this issue. People were hesitant to visit here because of terrorism, but now it’s terror-free,” he said while visiting Chabimura tourist spot, where he inaugurated developmental projects.
“All NLFT members have surrendered recently, leaving no space for terrorism,” added CM.
CM also appealed to people to help in developing the tourism sector.
“People of Tripura do not know about Tripura yet fully. I would request people to take an interest and visit the state and then come forward to help in boosting tourism,” he said.
Dr. Saha also mentioned, Tripura government is now also focusing on developing infrastructure in the tourism sector.
