AGARTALA, April 26 (TIWN): The Family of Puja Das (23) was left devastated after she could not survive her pain and died allegedly without receiving any treatment at GB Hospital. According to deceased’s father Subir Das, Puja needed blood every month since she was suffering due to a critical disease for the last three years, and she was brought to GB Hospital every month, but this time, no doctor treated her since she was suffering in an emergency. When she was collapsing from extreme stomach pain, her parents begged the nurses for help, but nothing could bring the doctor beside the patient’s bed, resulted she died in a long wait for treatment.
“Nurses gave her an injection to reduce stomach pain, but it did not help. No doctor reached out from the surgical department. We continued to press the medical staff to call the doctor. At last doctors came, who were not from the surgical department but were on duty nearby came here, but what they did was only declaring her dead,” said the victim’s parent.
“We met Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha and he assured that full support will be provided by the government. Next time, when we went to meet him, we were asked to submit paper, but since we submitted the matter, we were not allowed to meet him ever,” complained deceased Puja’s father.
“She comes every month. They know her disease, but even after all acknowledgments, this happened,” he added.
He also said that, Ayushman card also did not help him ever inside and outside the state, and he was asked to spend Rs. 15 lakhs for her treatment.
