AGARTALA, April 26 (TIWN): Agartala GRP Police, with the help of Jatrapur and Sonamura police, besides BSF 81 battalion, caught five Indian touts from Sonamura on Friday night. The arrested persons are (1)Jalal Mia, (2) Mh Hassan, who are residents of Majadibari in Dhanpur under Sonamura subdivision; and (3) Manir Hossain, (4) Jasimuddin, (5) Alambir Hossain, residents of Birampur under Jatrapur police station. Agartala GRP PS OC Tapas Das said, each of them was giving shelter to illegally entering Bangladeshi and guided them to Agartala Railway Station, helping them to go to other states.
In another operation, police also arrested a Bangladeshi citizen who entered India illegally. He was detained at Agartala Railway station, and charges were imposed against him Foreigner Act in the FIR.
Police also seized 14 KG Ganja from the Railway station but could not arrest anyone in connection.
