AGARTALA, April 25 (TIWN): Terminated 10323 teachers on Friday accused Tripura Government of misappropriating over Rs. 1,000 crores of funds that were set aside as 10323 teachers’ unpaid salaries. A group of 10323 teachers visited Account General office at 79 Tilla after a report was published by a state-based daily newspaper stating 10323 teachers’ accounts will be closed. The terminated teachers demanded a CBI investigation into the case, saying, 10323 teachers’ account was charged with taxes and regular salaries were coming in their names, but instead of paying the 10323 teachers, the fund was misused.
“Multiple cases are going on filed by 10323 teachers in High Court and Supreme Court. Amid the matter is judicial, how can such a decision be taken? To clarify this, we are visiting the AG Office,” said 10323 teacher Bijoy Krishna Das.
10323 teachers alleged embezzlement with their undistributed salaries
“We are forcefully removed from our jobs. But funds continued to come in our name as a part of our salaries, but instead of paying us, our salaries were destroyed. This is Tripura’s biggest ever scam,” alleged the terminated teacher. “We demand a CBI investigation into the case.”
The resented teachers told media they would take legal action against the AG Office as well as State Govt if they do not receive any response on this matter.
Over 200 terminated teachers have died since the 10323 teachers were sacked from their jobs in 2017 due to irregularities in the recruitment process.
10323 teachers alleged that they were never terminated by the court but the government illegally terminated them by violating the High Court’s order.
