TIWN March 31, 2025

AGARTALA, March 31 (TIWN): Since morning, social media has been filled with greetings as the Muslim community's auspicious Eid-ul-Fitr-2025 began. At Agartala's Gedu Mia mosque, special prayers were offered to God Allah on the occasion. Elders brought their children to the mosque to teach them the religious traditions and pass on values to the next generation.
As the crescent moon was sighted last evening, the Eid celebrations started.
Eid al-Fitr, also known as 'Meethi Eid,' is a significant Islamic festival marking the end of Ramadan.
During Ramadan, Muslims fast for a longer period each day, sacrificing worldly desires. After a month of spiritual reflection, Eid allows the community to break their fast and return to daily life with regular meals.

In a secular country like India, Eid is celebrated beyond Muslim communities, and all communities join together to mark the celebrations.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha greeted the state on Eid, saying, “Greetings on Eid-ul-Fitr. May this festival bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to all.”
