AGARTALA, March 17 (TIWN): Parents were relieved after the Doctor told them that their one-month-old son is now out of danger and stable and can be taken to home, who was suffering due to a rare birth defect Gastroschisis.
Gastroschisis is a birth defect where your baby is born with their organs outside of their body due to their abdominal wall not forming completely in the womb. Surgery was necessary to place baby's organs in order inside their body after birth.
Pediatric Surgeon Dr. Aniruddha Basak and his team have been successful in saving the baby with their unwavering determination to save the life, making full efforts to utilize every possibility to save the baby.
“My message is to patient parties to bring the patient to the hospital on time and in a pediatric case, a patient must be taken to a pediatric doctor only. Because people don’t do these things, unfortunately, we can’t save lives often,” said Dr. Basak.
Resident of Gandachera Rima Chakma gave birth to her son in Gandachera hospital with this rare disease. Gandachera Hospital immediately referred the baby to Kulai Hospital but Doctors at Kulai hospital, after observing the baby, further referred it to Tripura Medical College (TMC) which turned into a life-saving decision for the newborn life.
“I am so grateful to the Doctor. Lots of thanks to the hospital for curing my baby,” said Mrs. Chakma holding her baby in her arms.
