AGARTALA, March 10 (TIWN): Opposition CPI-M party’s wings DYFI, TYF protested over various issues in Agartala on Monday but the protest remained just a sort of protest only, which lacked not only manpower but also legal ground.
The activists were unable to mention the specific corruption against which they were protesting.
Under seven years of BJP Government, the opposition alleged a lot of corruptions, including MLA, Ministers’ election affidavit scams but the parties are too weak to take legal actions.
During CPI-M Govt’s time from 10323 to the Rose Valley scandal --- issues had shaken the state due to strong opposition’s existence, but the Left as the main opposition is failing to refill the position as a strong-opposition.
During the protest, DYFI Secretary Nabarun Deb said, “From Tripura University to Tripura Medical College, the police department, and traffic department, all the sectors are gripped in corruption. Now the level of corruption is going at a serious stage.”
He also alleged the corruption is mostly happening under Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha’s departments.
“On one hand, it’s corruption and on other hand, it’s the threat culture to prevent the public from protesting. Against all these, our protest is. We appeal to the people to come forward shedding all fears and join the protest,” said Nabarun Deb.
