AGARTALA, March 9 (TIWN): Opposition leader Jitendra Chowdhury Saturday advised Tripura police to take efforts to conduct raids in the Mohanpur constitution for potential Ganja cultivation busting. Jiten Chowdhury's tips to police came amid rumors of Mohanpur constituency has turned a safe-zone for illegal ganja-cultivation. Tripura Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath represents Mohanpur constituency as an elected legislator to Tripura Assembly. “Police busts Ganja rackets in Sonamura, Boxanagar and so many areas. But why don’t they act in Mohanpur ?” asked Jitendra Chowdhury.
Chowdhury also pointed indirectly to Minister Ratan Lal Nath for turning his constituency into a den for Ganja cultivation, further signaling a secret 'commission culture' prevails there under BJP's regime.
“Even the municipality areas are given up to such practices in Mohanpur,” said Chowdhury. “Why don’t police raid those areas ?”
Jitendra Chowdhury addressed the media on the occasion of the BJP Government’s two-year completion under CM Dr. Manik Saha, opposing the government’s claim of massive development in the state.
