AGARTALA, Feb 22 (TIWN): Amid escalating tensions within the BJP party, a group of miscreants set fire to the BJP party office in Charilam. The incident occurred in the Satmura area under the Charilam constituency on Friday night. The perpetrators of this heinous act are unknown, but the incident follows a recent conflict between the BJP and its ally, Tipra Motha. The dispute centers around contract works under government projects, which has fuled resentment between the two parties.
BJP Office Set on Fire in Charilam amid Rising Internal Conflicts
A war of words recently erupted between the BJP and Tipra Motha parties, with allegations of interference in government-sponsored construction projects.
According to Bishramganj TTAADC Sub-Zonal Chairman Sanjib Dabbarma, who addressed the media on Wednesday, BJP Mandal President Tapas Das, Sukanta Debnath, and others attempted to stop a developmental work in Charilam on Tuesday. The sub-zonal chairman warned the BJP to refrain from such activities.
The BJP leaders allegedly tried to stop the work, but left the scene when YTF members arrived. A similar incident recently occurred, highlighting the internal clashes between the parties in the area. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
However, Fire Brigade’s prompt action saved the party office from total damage, but the incident has triggered tension the locality/
Police have started an investigation to find the reason behind the fire incident and if any intentional sabotage motive is hidden behind this incident.
