AGARTALA, Feb 9 (TIWN): A 28-year-old man was arrested by police in Dharmanagar after a huge quantity of cough syrup and yaba tablets were seized from his vehicle.

The arrested man Helal Mia (28), S/O-Abdul Latif, resident of Shakhaibari in Dharmanagar was carrying the drugs in a Alto car bearing number TR05F/0382.

Based on secret information police set up a naka-checking in Dharmanagar-Kailashahar road.

When the vehicle approached, police raided it and arrested him with the seized items.

“Police have started an investigation under NDPS Act and to find out from where he was carrying these narcotic items and where they were being transported,” said an on-duty cop.
