AGARTALA, Jan 10 (TIWN): Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman peeled off the state government Friday during the first day of the Tripura Assembly winter session-2025 for degrading the value of higher education in the state's job sectors, citing how engineers are forced to apply for Group-C and Group posts out of joblessness.
Barman was referring to the recently published Joint Recruitment Board Tripura (JRBT) results for Group-C and Group-D posts. This was one of the lengthiest recruitment processes in Tripura’s recruitment history. Due to massive unemployment and the crisis in the government job sector, highly educated youth had to apply for the posts.
“Unemployment has taken a serious shape in the state. As no other option to get jobs inappropriate posts, technocrats and engineers applied for Group-C and Group-D posts,” lamented MLA Sudip Barman. “This is the current state of affairs.”
Barman further mentioned, how Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) has been making its process too lengthy resulting 2022’s recruitment process yet to be completed in 2025.
“Those who applied for TCS, TPS examinations are not getting results, letting them go for Fishery Assistant, Election Superintendent posts,” said Barman. “TPSC was established in 1972, 53 years back and it’s a shame that only 17th TCS cadre training is being held now.”
