AGARTALA, Dec 15 (TIWN): Regularization of contractual employees is Tripura BJP Govt’s one of the unfulfilled promises that violated its Vision Document’s promises. Contractual employees on Sunday held a state-level-convention, which tends to expand in the coming days was attended by Tripura High Court Advocate Purushottom Roy Barman. Barman assured to lead the agitation and take the employees towards their regularization destination but while talking to the media, Barman explained why it is very difficult to bring justice to the contractual employees with legal fights.
Purushottom Roy Barman told the media, “In the last 7 years no contractual employee was regularized in the state. Many people retired with tears in their eyes and empty hands. To bring an end to this deprivation, we have gathered here to prepare for a fight.”

“We waited for long 7 years. We hoped that the Govt would retract its circular, issued on July 18, 2018 and a fresh circular would be issued resuming the 2007 scheme, which gives an employee the right to be regularized after 10 years of job as a contractual employee but now our patience-level has shattered forcing us to join the movement for regularization,” said Purushottom Roy Barman.
Reacting to a journalist's question that referred to various protests took place under the Left Front Govt’s era on the same issue, Barman said, “In 2007-08, the then Govt had launched a scheme due to which after 10 years of job, regularization could be demanded. So many cases, I filed in the court but the new circular revoked the employees' right to demand regularization in courts.”
Barman said it’s all happening because of the 2018 circular.
