AGARTALA, February 6 (TIWN): After snatching out liberty of his cabinet colleagues and senior leaders of CPI-M, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar appeared to be overriding the power of the Speaker of the assembly in most unconstitutional manner. On the first of ongoing budget session on Friday, Speaker Ramendra Chandra Debnath was found helpless in the podium but to make attempt to keep Mr Sarkar’s luxurious image clean.The every action of Mr Debnath against questions and issues of opposition in the house was re-directed from Mr Sarkar and it was badly visible even from the visitors’ gallery. Mr Debnath was submissive always when treasury bench members raised even most objectionable issues that to by hints from Manik Sarkar.Speaker had allowed private members resolution of CPI-M MLAs on the proceedings of Parliament! The CPI-M MLAs were found concerned about the Ordinance passed by central government as an interim arrangement. They were found blaming central government for failure of Tripura in implementation of Food Security Act in the state and irregular flights operation in Agartala sectors. But when opposition move adjournment motion for discussion on multi-crore corruption in MGNREGA scheme in all the rural development blocks, Speaker rejected it following advice of Manik Sarkar.When opposition legislators have been asking for affixing a date for discussion on the looting from centrally sponsored schemes by CPI-M cadres, Mr Debnath was seen waiting for clearance from Manik Sarkar because legally, he could allow the discussion in any day but he did not.
