AGARTALA, Nov 19 (TIWN): Tripura Congress closed its Sanghati Yatra on Tuesday which started on October 31st, marking the assignation day of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The closing rally of the campaigning that marked Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary, was organized in Melaghar attended by hundreds of Congress supporters in presence of Tripura Congress state president Asish Saha.
Talking to media on the occasion, Saha said, “Indira Gandhi was a world leader. She sacrificed her life for the nation. India went at its peak of development during her tenure as the Prime Minister of India. Even though she isn’t with us, she inspires us for nation’s growth.”
“She is remembered today, when the nation is reeling under an uncomfortable atmosphere under the BJP regime,” said Asish Saha.
“Our party members have walked across Tripura and reached out to people through Sanghati Yatra. Nationwide Congress is organizing similar programs to unify the nation including Nyay Sanghati Yatra,” added Saha.
The rally started from Melaghar petrol pump area and walked across Melaghar market zone. The rally ended in Lal Mia Chowmuhani.
